Activity No. :01
Name of the Activity: Seminar on Sensor Networks
Date  : 28-08-17

Details of the Activity:
A seminar on sensor networks organised by department of electronics on 28 July 2017. Mr. M. Ramakrishna Head, Department of ECE, Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology acts as a resource person for this program. Students aware about smart sensors and their networking, sensing techniques and applications of these networks in real time. Both II and III B.Sc. Electronics students were participated in this program.

Name of the Activity:Career Guidance

Details of the Activity:
On 1st July 2017 department of electronics arranged a interactive program on career guidance for II B.Sc.  Electronics technology students, for this program employ of Infosys (former student of department) Ms. R. Divya Sai acted as a resource person. In this program students interacted with resource person and aware about the industrial environment and skills to be develop to excel in industries.

Name of the Activity: Workshop on Soldering

Details of the Activity:
Department of electronics conducted one week training program on PCB and soldering techniques for I B.Sc. Electronics Technology students from 13th to 19th July 2017. In this program students learnt designing techniques of PCB, making of PCB and soldering techniques. In this program each student prepared Light sensor based switch.

Name of the Activity:   Industrial visit to Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Details of the Activity:
On 16-09-17 department arranged industrial visit to Efftronics Systems Pvt. Ltd. Vijayawada for III B.Sc. Electronics students. In this students visited various departments of the company namely R&D, production, quality control departments and witnessed activities in this departments. They also visited automation production unit and they got awareness about product automation using SMDs.

Name of the Activity:   Educational Visit to SHAR & NIPPO Batteries

Details of the Activity:
On 17-11-17 department arranged education visit to SHAR, Sriharikota, Nellore and Nippo Batteries, Tada, Nellore for II B.Sc. Electronics & III B.Sc. Physics students. In this students visited Library, 1st Launch pad, 2nd Launch pad, Abdul kalam launch pad and space museum at SHAR also various stages during manufacturing oof batteries at NIPPO.

Name of the Activity:   National Level Academic Competitions: Technoesis - 2017

Details of the Activity:
The department of Electronics of Andhra Loyola College organized a “NATIONAL LEVEL QUIZ, PROJECT EXPO, PAPER & POSTER PRESENTATION” (TECHNOESIS 2017-2018) for degree students on 14th DECEMBER 2017 in which nearly 125 students of various colleges from all over the Nation took part.

Name of the Activity:   Guest lecture on IoT (Internet of Things)

Details of the Activity:
A Guest lecture on IoT (Internet of Things)organised by department of electronics on 1st Feb..2018. Mr. Lakshmi Narayana, Asst. Professor, Department of ECE, Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering and Technology acted as a resource person for this program. Students aware about Basics of IoT, smart sensors and their sensing techniques and applications of these in real time. Both II and III B.Sc. Electronics students were participated in this program.

Name of the Activity:   Industrial visit to Machkund Hydal Power Plant

Details of the Activity:
On 12th Feb. 2018 department arranged industrial visit to Machkund Hydal Power Plant, Koraput Dist., Orissa  for III B.Sc. Electronics students. In this students visited power plant and witnessed the running of a turbines and generation of power and its distribution from the grid.

Details of the Activity:
On 17th Feb. 2018 department conducted Science exhibition. About 17 working models were displayed by III B.Sc. Electronics students. Around 300 students and staff witnessed our exhibits.

DEPARTMENT EVENTS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2016-2017

Event-I
Orientation to First year students
               On 17thJune 2016 Department organize an Orientation program for I year B.Sc Electronics (AEC) and B.Sc Electronics Technology (AELT) students.
In this department introduces our department staff members and brief explanation about usage of various components and equipment in the lab.

Event-II
Educational visit to “effe visit”
On 29thJune 2016, the department arranged an educational visit to “Efftronics” M.G road, Vijayawada and “efe LED’s” at Benz circle for DELT students.
 Effe is an LED lightning show room where different LED lights were displayed after visiting this show room students got clear idea about different color temperature of white light and appearance, different solid state luminous controlling of intensity of white light using mobile application. Ambience of white light model house lighting design
20 students of DELT took part in this which was led by Mr. B. Balaji Bhanu.

Event-III

Seminar on “Hardware Networking and Ethical Hacking”
On 14thJuly 2016, the department arranged a seminar on Hardware Networking and Ethical Hacking lectured by Guru Raj, NIIT, Vijayawada.
 II and III year (NEC, NELT, DELT, and DEC) students are participated in this seminar. In these seminar students got awareness regarding basic networking, network elements, and network topologies and networking types sharing of printer with in a network and they got clear idea about ethical hacking. Total 94 students were participating in this seminar.



Event- IV

Seminar on “Methodologies in Design of Embedded system”
On 19th July 2015, department of conducted workshop on Methodologies in Design of Embedded system by Mr. V.Govinda Rajulu managing director MICROLINK Peripherals; acted as resource person. In this workshop students learn about planning of designing a product splitting complete product in to different modules, modular design, choosing of proper circuit elements, circuit and voltage distribution programming and testing of product.
       Ninety four students of II and III B.Sc electronics were participating in this event

Event – V
Educational visit to “Doordarshan Kendra”
On 21thJuly 2016, the department conducted an educational visit to “Doordarshan Studio” M.G road, Vijayawada and “Broadcasting station” at Kondapalli.
          All the III year electronics (DEC) and electronics technology (DELT) students were took an active part in this visit. With this they aware about Recording room acoustics, Process of recording audio and video systems, Video cameras convert the picture into RGB colors found by the object it and finally convert the same into EM waves at Studio. TV tower, about 200 meters height, contains transmitter and antenna units also Audio frequencies and Video frequencies are fed simultaneously under different frequencies of band width and transmit the same through antenna tower at Transmitting station.

Event – VI
Workshop on Soldering Techniques
Department of Electronics conducted a two week training program for all 1st year B.Sc electronics students on Soldering Techniques on 7th July 2016 to 23rd July 2016.
      In this program me students had hands on experience on soldering technique, they learn about soldering tools required different types of soldering techniques of effective soldering use of flux, and learn about desoldering technique.
     100 students belong to both AEC & AEL section took part in this training program all over department faculty members played active role in this to 2 week training program

 Event – VII
Orientation on Project Report
On 23rd September 2015, department arranged a seminar on Project Methodology The resource person of the seminar was Dr. Ch. Srinivasu, Reader, Dept of Physics, ALC
  In this 3rd year Electronics (DEC, DEL) students were participated and they got an idea on various steps are involved in working on science projects & method of reporting after completion of project.

Event – VIII
Education visit to SHAR and NIPPO BATTERIES
Department of Electronics arranged an education visit to SatishDhawan Space Centre (SDSC), as SHAR is situated on an island off Sullurupeta - a small town in Nellore district, of the state Andhra Pradesh. On FEB 18thstudents of II B.Sc (NEC &NELT) section total of 40 are visited the plant.
The first launching pad is PSLV , it is a tall building, in which  a rocket is prepared with all its requirements and when it is launching  rocket, it moves 200 fts backwards  and the rockets moves to space, where everyone of us was awestruck.
And the second launching pad is GSLV, which  is made of advanced technology, it launches  the rocket, with all parts from the branches of Indian space research center.
     A third launching pad is under construction they gone through MCC i.e.  Machine control center where all the rockets are controlled.
Apart from SHAR, students went to NIPPO Batteries, which is located in Thada of Nellore district. There seen the manufacturing of batteries, various types in it and the material they used.

Seminar on Internship
Department of Electronics arranged a Seminar on Internship program for final year electronics students (DEL) on 18th November 2016, by Dr. G.S.R garu ANDHRA LOYOLA COLLEGE

Event – X
Project EXPO
On 30th November 2016 Department of Electronics conducted exhibition with 16 exhibits all working models prepare by final year electronics students.
    Nearly 300 students and staff members were visited our exhibits. In this program 33 students of DEC sections were actively participated

Event-I

On 31st AUG 2015, department arranged a training program on PCB designing. The resource person of this program wasArjun,.
In this training program 47students from AELT and NEC sections are actively participated. They designed layout and made a PCB.

Department of Electronics arranged a Carrier Guidance program on17th November 2015, by Ramesh

Hands on Training Program
A Hand on Training Program-Embedded Product Design was arranged by Department of Electronics from 23rd November 2015 to 27th November 2015, by CDAC, Hyderabad.

In this training program students of Electronics (NEC) and Electronics Technology (NELT) actively participated.

TECHNOESIS

The department of Electronics of Andhra Loyola College organized a “NATIONAL LEVEL QUIZ, PAPER & POSTER PRESENTATION” (TECHNOESIS 2015-16) competitionsfor degree students on 14th December 2015   in which 110 students from various degree colleges are took part. In quiz Sri Y.N. College, Narsapur are emerged as winners, Aditya Degree college Women, Kakinada &P.B. Siddhartha college, Vijayawada settled with first and second runner up respectively. In the paper presentation first place was clinched by St. Theresa Degree College, Eluru and Maris Stella College, Vijayawada &Nalanda Degree College, Vijayawada settled with first and second runner up respectively. This presentation was conducted based on three topics namelySKINPUT TECHNOLOGY, ROLE OF ELECTRONICS IN “MAKE IN INDIA”, and 4G WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY.In Poster PresentationNalanda Degree College, Vijayawada is emerged as winners andT.J.P.SCollege, settled as second runner up respectively.This presentation was conducted based on the topic“IOT, Big Data, analytics with mobile applications to build smart solutions”.For this competitionMr.M.Ramakrishna, Asso. Prof.& Head, ALIET and DR.G.SrinivasaRao,Reader in Physics,ALC acted as a Judges.
                               

            On this occasion Chief guest, Guest of Honour   Sri John Chrisostam,Senior general manager(CM), BSNL,Vijayawada , Correspondent of Andhra Loyola College Rev.Fr.SRaju S.J,Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. G.A.P Kishore S. J, Vice Principals Rev.FrS..Melchior S.J, Staff and students of Electronics were present.

Carrier Development Programme on Higher Education
Department of Electronics arranged a Carrier Guidance program for final year electronics students (DEC) on 22ndJanuary 2016, by Dr. Ch. Ravi Shankar Kumar, Asst. Proff., Gitam University, Vizag.
